Our Leadership
Since 1998, WOLCS has provided families in Northwest Philadelphia and across the city with a quality public educational option for their children. WOLCS continues to make Adequate Yearly Progress (AYP) by improving the overall performance of our students on the Pennsylvania System of School Assessment (PSSA).
The WOLCS Board of Trustees and administration have set their sights on moving the school from Good to Great. Most recently, we completed a major expansion, creating a state-of-the-art facility that will house all grades K-8 in one building.
True to the school's mission, we will continue to empower children to become lifelong learners in the areas of science, technology and the humanities by exposing them to innovative ways of teaching and learning, while preparing them for the challenges of the 21st Century.
WOLCS has a staff of eighty-five teachers, administrators and instructional support personnel. More than 800 students are enrolled for the current school year. Class size is small. The typical student-teacher ratio is 26:1, allowing teachers to discover the learning styles of their students, maximize individualized student attention, and improve student-teacher communications.
