West Oak Lane Charter School is looking for Pennsylvania certified teachers for the 2013-2014 school year that can help us turn a "good" school into a "great" school. We are in our 15th year as a K-8 charter school located in the West Oak Lane section of Philadelphia. We have approximately 905 students. Our school offers a bright spacious, clean and safe environment for teachers and students. Spanish Teacher – Position Summary
Instructional work teaching Spanish to elementary and middle school students. Employees are responsible for mastering and utilizing a variety of instructional techniques and delivering excellent instruction. Work involves instructing students in basic sound system and spelling patterns, common vocabulary words and phrases, and sentence and question structures of Spanish language.
CREDENTIALS AND EXPERIENCE:
- Pennsylvania Certification (Instructional I or II in Spanish)
- Bachelor's degree, including all courses to satisfy requirements of subject major in Spanish
- Minimum of one year of full-time teaching experience preferred
Computer Intervention Coordinator – Position Summary
Work involves providing oversight for computer based reading and math intervention programs to enhance and develop student comprehension across all grade levels (K-8th). Provide computer instruction as aligned with Pennsylvania state standards to all grade level students enabling them to attain competence in the use of computer and computer systems as tools for research and communication. Requires working with teachers and students to effectively integrate the use of technology to support remedial work.
CREDENTIALS AND EXPERIENCE:
- Bachelor's degree or the equivalent in work experience
- Minimum of five years of computer instruction in a classroom setting
- Minimum of five year of full-time teaching experience preferred
Kindergarten - (PA Certified - K-6)
Minimum of 2 years classroom experience
PSSA Math/Reading Prep Teacher (PA Certified - K-8)
Ability to Teach Algebra
6th Grade Teacher - (PA Certified - K-8)
5th Grade Teacher - (PA Certified - K-6)
With extensive intermediate experience (specifically in the 4th thru 6th Grade)
Elementary Teacher - (PA Certified)
With minimum of 1 year experience
