West Oak Lane Charter School Celebrates “Read Across America Day”

Every year at the beginning of March, children across the country kick-off National Reading Month by celebrating the birthday of the beloved Dr. Seuss and the many characters that have been immortalized in his children’s books across the globe. “Read Across America Day” calls for every child in every community to celebrate reading on March 2nd.

The day included Congressman Dwight Evans and many others. As co-founder of WOLCS, Congressman Dwight Evans made returning today to read to our students a priority, as he has done since the program has been in place.

For WOLCS, this is a week-long event, incorporating “Wacky Wednesday” by Dr Seuss and many other books and activities.
