Their First School Year in a Classroom: K. and 1st Grade Student Orientation Friday at West Oak Lane Charter School

 

WHO:          West Oak Lane Charter School (WOLCS) Kindergarten and 1st Grade Students, parents and caregivers, WOLCS teachers and support staff, WOLCS CEO Dr. Debbera Peoples-Lee.

 

WHAT:        West Oak Lane Charter School administrators and teachers will top off summer programming as they formally welcome their incoming Kindergarten and 1st grade students into the 2021-2022 school year. Due to the pandemic, the current school year marks the first time the incoming Kindergarten and 1st grade will experience classes in the building.  

 

The summer session included:

            • Previewing school life come September
            • Learning classroom routines and procedures
            • Engaging in getting-to-know-you activities
            • Practicing safety measures in the hallways and classrooms

 

The day will conclude when parents and caregivers join their children outside at noon for music, ice cream, and an inspirational greeting from WOLCS CEO Dr. Debbera Peoples-Lee.

 

WHEN:         Friday, July 30, 2021 – 12 PM

            • NOON is the best time for footage and comment from parents and WOLCS CEO Dr. Lee.

(WOLCS can accommodate if your crew needs to visit earlier as students will begin their day at 10 am for classroom footage)
